The two designs below are from an “Art for Quilters” follow-on assignment to the earlier one I posted. Here, we were to use multiple colors but still use simple geometric shapes that we split up. I like the one using pinks and reds the best.
Thanks, Anne, for your comments. This blue one is a second version; the first one was really a mess. This teacher’s technique is to use Steam a Seam on the applique. That allows you to reposition the pieces as many times as you want before permanently fusing them down. A great way to learn to work intuitively, and stand back and evaluate the work as you go along.
I find the blue very pleasing. Like looking at the sky with a bird flying. Very soothing.
